It’s rare to encounter a project that immediately feels once-in-a-lifetime, and Girls was one of those moments. From the pilot onward, the series spoke with a voice that was sharp, intimate, and unmistakably of its time — resonating deeply with women my age and reflecting a perspective I connected with right away.

The creative direction was intentionally clear: the title needed to feel fun yet gritty, and distinctly separate from the glossy conventions of Sex and the City. We embraced a fast, expansive exploration process, rapidly developing and refining a wide range of concepts. Featured here is a curated selection from our initial round of title explorations.
